From the Chairman's Desk

Dear Friends,
"All those who have meditated on the art of governing mankind have been convinced that the fate of empires depends on the education of youth." - Aristotle

Education cannot be confined to schools, colleges and universities. It is a life-long process. What we know and do and need to know and do, cannot all be taught by any school. But the school performs a very big service. It equips the learner with basic tools of learning and provides him with the fundamentals of knowledge so that the learner reaches a stage where he is capable of learning on his own. In this sense, the teacher ceases to be a mere giver of knowledge and turns a facilitator. The school transforms itself from a place of learning the three R's to a centre of human resource development where, in addition to normal routine transaction of curriculum, the innate talents and abilities of the learners are unearthed, developed and brought to fruition. They learn how to learn and act beyond the prescribed curriculum and apply their knowledge to innovative and creative activities.

Education, then, no longer remains preparation for a three hour examination but is transformed into a process of modification of thought processes and behaviour. It is excellence and quality of education which can produce leaders in every field who will take the country forward. In this scenario, the private sector assumes an important role. It has the expertise, the resources, the faculty and the infrastructure to train young men and women who will place India in the front line of the most developed nations in the world.

Inspired by these ideals, Ganga Group of Institutions are ceaselessly striving for excellence. The group comprises of the premier Ganga International School at Hiran Kudna, Delhi, Sawda, Delhi, Rohini, Delhi, Khanori Mandi, Distt. Patiala, Punjab and Kablana, Distt. From the Prinicipal's Desk

Dear Friends,
From the time immemorial 'the wheel of fire' at the centre of our being has been turning impersonally, inflaming our spirit and bursting forth into creativity. The sense perception, is always teaching us how to become mesmerised on the charming beauties of Nature. Education in India has evolved itself since time immemorial. Ours is a country which takes pride in being the rich heir of the knowledge process. Our ancient Gurus have inculcated not only the knowledge domain but also something beyond. They have educated their pupils not only in subjects of academic, societal importance but have enhanced the aura of their pupils spiritually too.

In today's scenario, education encompasses teaching and learning specific skills, and also something less tangible but more profound: the imparting of knowledge, good judgment and wisdom. Education has as one of its fundamental goals the imparting of culture from generation to generation. Educational activity primarily involves the presentation of material by the faculty to students who are learning about the subject matter. Different people believe in different ideals of life, as a result, they look at education differently. There is, therefore, no universal definition of education. But one thing everyone should have to remember as a vital executive of the universe, they are duty bound to contribute something to justify their superiority. Every human being is a treasure of enormous potential. Through education we are to ignite it.

In recent times, we often experience a paradigm shift in the basic approach to education. Realising this, we all at GIS are making an all out endeavour to restore this basic approach through different developments and community services. We believe education acknowledges that man is a mine rich in gems of inestimable value and the purpose of education is to draw out the hidden gems from within each child, to visualize the gem in the rock and to polish each piece until it each shines like a gem. It is a continuous and creative process. The session that has gone has been an effort to polish these gems and give them an opportunity to shine not only in their school, region, state, country but also abroad. It has been overwhelming to see our students succeeding in various arenas, carving a niche for themselves through their potential, talent and abilities.

I have been immensely lucky to have a team of staff members who have shared my vision and thoughts to groom the students at GIS. Each one of them has worked diligently to impart not only formal education but have acted as mentors to the students in moulding their personalities. They have helped in bringing together and keeping together students coming from different cultures and backgrounds thereby creating a wonderful harmony.

Whatever we are today is due to the hard work of our GIS team, response from our dear students, best wishes of our parents and well wishers and the patronage of the Management. We commit ourselves yet again to pursue excellence and look forward to support from one and all.

With Best Wishes,
Charu Kapoor
